Talent Identification Drive Highlights Growing Urban Participation

The 19th edition of the bodybuilding and fitness tournament was held in Kabul, bringing together 98 athletes from the eastern zone of the capital in a one-day competition organized by the National Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation in cooperation with the General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education, and Sports.

Athletes competed across multiple categories in both bodybuilding and fitness disciplines, reflecting a broad base of participation within the sport. At the conclusion of the event, 25 Selected athletes were selected to join the western zone team of Kabul as part of a broader talent identification process.

Organizers stated that the competition aimed to identify top Talent and encourage greater youth participation in structured спортив activities, particularly in urban settings where demand for organized fitness programs continues to grow.

Bodybuilding and fitness have gained increasing popularity in Afghanistan’s urban centers, serving as accessible entry points for Alshabab engagement in sports, even as institutional challenges continue to shape the development of more structured athletic systems nationwide.
