The Afghanistan Cricket Board has launched the selection matches for the national Under-19 team at the Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Stadium in Khost.
The selection process began on May 17 and will continue until May 25, followed by a second phase scheduled from June 1 to June 14.
A total of 64 talented players are taking part in the process. The participants include standout performers from domestic first- and second-division provincial competitions, as well as players identified through fast-bowling open trials. The players have been divided into four teams.
During the selection phase, 16 matches will be played, with each team scheduled to play eight matches.
The process is being closely monitored by the coaching staff and members of the selection committee. At the conclusion of the trials, 30 to 35 players will be shortlisted for upcoming national preparation camps as part of Afghanistan’s Under-19 team development pathway.
