
FIFA has unveiled additional performers and special guests for the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremonies in Mexico City ahead of the tournament’s opening match.

FIFA has confirmed that Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández will perform Mexico’s national anthem, while South African artist Tyla will sing South Africa’s national anthem during the pre-match ceremony for the opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Mexican-American actress, director and producer Salma Hayek Pinault has also been named a FIFA World Cup 2026 Ambassador and will welcome fans to Mexico City while celebrating football’s ability to unite people around the world.
Colombian singer Ryan Castro will join fellow artist J Balvin on stage during the opening ceremony as part of a special musical performance.
The ceremony, scheduled to begin 90 minutes before kick-off at Mexico City Stadium, will feature performances by several internationally recognized artists, including Belinda, Burna Boy, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, Maná and Shakira.
Fans attending the event have been encouraged to arrive early, with the opening ceremony beginning at 11:30 a.m. local time and stadium gates opening four hours before kick-off. A variety of entertainment activities and fan experiences will also be available throughout the venue.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by Mexico, the United States and Canada and is set to become the largest tournament in FIFA World Cup history. Mexico City will host the opening match and the first of three major opening ceremonies that will continue in Canada and the United States, celebrating football, music and culture on a global stage.
