The first phase of Afghanistan’s national golf selection tournament has begun in Kabul, bringing together 30 athletes from the national team and local clubs. The competition will determine the golfers who advance to the final national selection stage.

The first phase of Afghanistan’s National Golf Selection Tournament has commenced in the Qargha area of Paghman district, Kabul, with 30 athletes competing over two days.
The tournament, organized by the Afghanistan Golf Federation under the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, features golfers representing the national team and various clubs from Kabul.
At the conclusion of the competition, 10 players will qualify for the final stage of the national selection tournament.
Similar qualifying events are also being held in Bamyan and Herat provinces. The top performers from the three provinces will then compete in the final selection event, where the best golfers will earn places on Afghanistan’s national golf team.
The tournament is part of the federation’s efforts to identify talented players and strengthen the national team’s squad through a competitive selection process.
The Afghanistan Golf Federation organizes national selection tournaments to identify emerging talent and assemble the country’s national team. Regional qualifying competitions provide golfers from different provinces with an opportunity to compete for places in the national squad.
