Afghanistan’s U-19 cricket selection camp is underway in Nangarhar, where promising young players are sharpening their skills as coaches evaluate talent for future national team selection.

The Afghanistan Under-19 national cricket team’s selection camp is continuing in Nangarhar as coaches assess emerging talent and prepare the next generation of players for future international competitions.
Head coach Riaz Ahmadzai said the selection programme moved to Nangarhar after completing its first phase in Khost. The camp focuses on identifying promising young cricketers while improving their technical skills and overall match readiness.
Players are undergoing intensive training in batting, bowling, fielding and physical conditioning, with coaches closely monitoring their performance throughout the programme.
Practice matches will also be held during the camp, allowing players to demonstrate their abilities in competitive situations and strengthen their chances of earning selection for the national U-19 squad.
The nationwide selection programme forms part of the Afghanistan Cricket Board’s talent development pathway aimed at building a competitive Under-19 team for upcoming regional and international tournaments.
