Afghanistan’s head coach said the team delivered a strong overall performance in their opening match against hosts Ireland, but identified fielding as an area requiring further improvement.
He said the players performed well during the match, with Afghanistan producing a positive performance with the bat and making important contributions with the ball.
However, the coach said the team still needs to put more effort into improving its fielding and reducing mistakes in that area.
Afghanistan secured victory in the opening match against Ireland as the team began the series with a winning result.
Afghanistan and Ireland are competing in an ODI series, with the Afghan side looking to build on its opening victory in the matches ahead.
