A weeklong western zone snooker tournament involving 96 players from four Afghan provinces concluded in Herat, with the leading competitors receiving trophies, prizes and gifts.

Organizers said the competition was intended to support the development of snooker, identify emerging talent and provide players with more competitive opportunities.

Officials from the National Snooker Federation of Afghanistan attended the closing ceremony, during which the Al-Khalifa Snooker and Billiards Club was also opened.

The National Snooker Federation of Afghanistan organized the tournament in cooperation with the Herat Department of Physical Education and Sports.
