Istiqlal have won an eight-team volleyball competition in Balkh district after defeating Umm al-Bilad in the deciding match.
The tournament brought together eight teams for a concentrated one-night competition, with Istiqlal and Umm al-Bilad advancing to the final.
Istiqlal prevailed in the deciding contest to secure the championship, leaving Umm al-Bilad as runners-up.
The tournament added another local competitive opportunity for volleyball teams in Balkh, where the sport has an established provincial following.
Rather than the event’s ceremonial elements, the sporting outcome was Istiqlal’s successful run through the eight-team field and victory over Umm al-Bilad in the final.
