Naqibullah Totakhail won a 150-kilometre road cycling race from Kabul to Nangarhar on Thursday, finishing ahead of 49 other competitors in an event organised by Afghanistan’s national cycling federation.

Sharifullah Masoumi secured second place, while Delawar Shah Rahmani finished third.

The competition was organised by the National Cycling Federation, which operates under Afghanistan’s General Directorate of Olympics, Physical Education and Sports, with financial support from telecommunications company ATOMA.

The race took cyclists along the 150-kilometre route connecting Kabul and Nangarhar, bringing together 50 athletes for the road cycling event.

Competition is set to continue on Friday, September 25, with a freestyle cycling event scheduled in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province.

The organisers have not yet provided further details about the freestyle competition’s participants or format in the announcement supplied to ASJF NEWS.
