Afghanistan Sports Authority Names New Procurement and Education Heads

Mohammad Aziz Azizi has been appointed to lead procurement at Afghanistan’s national sports authority, while former procurement chief Lal Mohammad Sayar moves to the education department. The changes are part of an administrative reshuffle aimed at improving the authority’s day-to-day work.

Afghanistan’s national sports authority has made two changes to its administrative leadership, appointing new heads for its procurement and education departments.

The General Directorate of Olympics, Physical Education and Sports said it had appointed Mohammad Aziz Azizi as head of procurement, while Lal Mohammad Sayar, who previously led the department, was transferred to head the education department.

The authority’s director general, Ahmadullah Wasiq, technical and professional deputy Ahmad Jan Zadran, finance and administration director Abdul Naser Hashemi, and other leadership members formally introduced the appointments at a meeting.

Wasiq said changes within an organisation were an important part of administration and described the latest appointments as an effort to improve daily operations and strengthen administrative work.

For Sayar, the appointment represents a move within the same authority rather than a new arrival. After overseeing procurement, he will now take responsibility for the education department, while Azizi assumes responsibility for procurement.

Both officials thanked the leadership for its confidence in them and said they would work to carry out their new responsibilities in an organised and effective manner, according to the sports authority.

The appointments concern the administrative structure of the General Directorate of Olympics, Physical Education and Sports and do not represent changes to the leadership of Afghanistan’s individual national sports federations.
