Editorial Standards
Last reviewed: 3 September 2026
ASJF NEWS is an independent sports-news outlet. These standards apply to every report published by the news desk.
Accuracy and verification
Accuracy takes priority over speed. Names, dates, results, quotations, locations and material claims must be checked before publication. Reports must distinguish what ASJF NEWS verified directly, what a named source said, what an official statement reported and what remains unconfirmed.
Sources and attribution
Information from organizations, documents, statistics, official statements and other publications must be clearly attributed and linked when possible. Anonymous information may be used only when the source has direct knowledge, faces a credible risk from identification and an editor knows the source’s identity.
Sources and image credits
The links below document sources and image credits for the homepage sports information and athlete profiles. Check dates refer to the recorded checks for those items.

Independence
Editorial decisions are made for journalistic reasons. Governments, teams, athletes, sports organizations, advertisers and outside groups may not dictate news coverage. Significant conflicts of interest must be disclosed to an editor.
Fairness and right of reply
Reports must represent subjects in context. A person or organization facing serious criticism should receive a reasonable opportunity to respond before publication. A refusal or failure to respond may be reported.
News and opinion
News reports verified developments without advocacy. Analysis and opinion, when published, must be clearly labelled and must not be presented as straight news. Press releases must not be presented as independently reported journalism.
Corrections and accountability
Material errors are corrected promptly and transparently. Significant corrections include a note explaining what changed. Developing-story updates are distinguished from corrections. Readers may review our Corrections Policy or contact the news desk.
