KABUL — A monthly snooker competition featuring 90 players representing 30 clubs has begun in the Afghan capital, bringing together players from across Kabul for two days of competition.
The tournament is being staged at the Golden Ball Club by the Afghanistan National Snooker Federation in cooperation with the country’s sports authorities.
Players from different clubs across Kabul will compete during the two-day event, with the leading performers set to receive trophies, certificates and other awards at the conclusion of the competition.
The tournament is part of a regular competition programme for Kabul’s snooker players.
According to information released by the organisers, snooker competitions are held twice each month with an emphasis on developing the sport and identifying emerging players.
With 90 competitors from 30 clubs taking part, the latest tournament also provides an opportunity for Kabul-based players to gain regular competitive experience rather than relying only on occasional major events.
