Afghan martial artists delivered strong performances at the ongoing 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, winning silver and bronze medals in the martial arts category.

In the 75kg division, Fayyaz Ahmad Ebrahimi defeated his Kyrgyz and Indian opponents before falling to his UAE rival in the final, securing a silver medal for Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Ahmad Qayoumi, competing in the 70kg weight class, won his opening bout against an Indian athlete but lost his second match, earning a bronze medal.

The 2025 Asian Youth Games feature athletes from 45 countries competing across 27 sports disciplines. Afghanistan has sent nearly 50 athletes and officials to participate in eight sports, marking one of its most diverse delegations to date.

The Games began on October 22 in Bahrain and will continue until October 31, showcasing emerging young talent from across the continent.
