
A four-member delegation from the Afghanistan National Weightlifting Federation has departed Kabul for Tehran to participate in the sixth edition of the international Fajr Cup.

The delegation consists of three athletes and one coach, who have left Kabul for the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate in the Fajr Cup, an international weightlifting event hosted in Tehran.
According to officials, the competition will take place from November 26 to 30, 2025, with the Afghan team aiming to achieve strong results and represent the country effectively on the international stage.
Federation representatives said the athletes have prepared thoroughly and hope to deliver performances that bring recognition and pride to Afghanistan in this year’s tournament.
The Fajr Cup has grown into one of the region’s notable international weightlifting events, offering athletes from across Asia the opportunity to compete at a high level and gain valuable experience ahead of continental and global championships.
