The Afghanistan national football team will participate in a four-nation tournament scheduled to be held in the Maldives, according to the Afghanistan Football Federation.
The competition is set to take place from 1 to 10 June and will feature Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Maldives, and the Bangladesh U-23 team.
Federation officials stated that the tournament is intended to support regional teams in their preparations for upcoming competitions, while also marking the 75th anniversary of football in the Maldives.
The participation reflects Afghanistan’s continued engagement in regional football events as part of efforts to maintain competitive readiness and strengthen international exposure.
Four-nation tournaments have become a common platform for developing teams to gain match experience and improve coordination, particularly in regions where regular international fixtures remain limited.
