A two-day boxing refereeing and coaching seminar has opened in Kabul, bringing together 60 referees and coaches from the capital and several provinces across Afghanistan.
The seminar is being organized by the Afghanistan Boxing Federation in cooperation with the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports.
Participants will receive training on the latest international boxing rules and regulations, standardized refereeing and scoring procedures, athlete safety protocols and other technical aspects of the sport. The seminar is being led by Tamim Ahmad Akhtari, a three-star international boxing referee.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ahmadullah Wasiq, Director General of the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports; Dad Mohammad Payenda Akhtari, President of Olympic Affairs; Qadeer Soltani, President of the Afghanistan Boxing Federation; along with federation officials, referees and coaches.
Officials said the seminar is designed to enhance the technical and professional capacity of referees and coaches while improving their understanding of the latest international boxing standards.
Educational seminars for referees and coaches play a key role in improving the quality of officiating and coaching in competitive boxing. Such programs help ensure that national competitions are conducted in line with international regulations while supporting the long-term development of the sport in Afghanistan.
