The draw for the sixth season of the Afghanistan Champions League was held at Ariana Television’s studio in Kabul, with Afghanistan Football Federation officials and representatives of the participating clubs in attendance.
The 10 teams learned their opponents for the coming campaign, which will be played over two rounds across approximately three months. The federation said the schedule contains 45 matches in the first round and 45 return fixtures, for a total of 90.
The league is scheduled to begin on Thursday, September 10, and end on November 21. Abu Muslim Farah, the fifth-season champion, will meet Sarsabz Yashlar of Faryab in the opening fixture.
Five matches are due to be played each week at the Afghanistan Football Federation stadium. The announced daily kickoff times are 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Ariana Television Network is expected to broadcast the competition live for viewers in Afghanistan and abroad.
The federation did not provide the full match-by-match fixture list in its announcement.
