Defending champions Abu Muslim Farah opened the sixth season of the Afghanistan Champions League with an impressive 3–0 victory over Sarsabz Yashlar of Faryab in Kabul.
The opening match was played at the Afghanistan Football Federation Stadium, where Abu Muslim took control of the contest and secured the first three points of their title defence.
Omid Popalzai put Abu Muslim ahead in the first half, giving the defending champions an early advantage.
Abu Muslim maintained their momentum after the interval. Mahboob Hanafi added the second goal before Omid Rajabi completed the scoring to seal a convincing 3–0 victory.
The result gives Abu Muslim Farah a strong opening to their campaign as they seek to defend the Afghanistan Champions League title.
Ten teams are participating in the sixth season of the competition, which is being played in a home-and-away format in Kabul and is scheduled to continue until November 21.
The opening round continues with Omar Zawak Loy Shindand facing Khurasan Faryab, while Istiqlal Kabul will meet Toofan Herat.
