Omid Jan Naimi has been named the Samangan Premier League Player of the Year after finishing first in a public vote involving 10 shortlisted players.
Naimi, who represents Nukhbagan Khulm Bastan, received 440 votes, accounting for 68 per cent of the total reported vote.
The selection was organised by Asia Network, which shortlisted 10 players from the Samangan Premier League before conducting the vote.
Naimi was presented with the Player of the Year trophy on Monday, 23 Sunbula 1405, during a ceremony attended by representatives of the provincial football community.
Among those present were Samangan Football Federation head Taj Mohammad Khodadad, veteran football figure Sardar Dawlatzai and league organising official Mohiuddin.
The award was presented to Naimi by Munir Munawar Qarizada Samangani of Asia Network.
The result gives Naimi an individual distinction following his performances for Nukhbagan Khulm Bastan, although the award was determined through a public vote rather than solely through statistical performance or a technical panel.
