Omar Zawak Herat and Sorkh Poshan Khafi collected important victories in the sixth season of the Afghanistan Champions League on Tuesday, keeping both clubs among the competition’s leading sides.
Omar Zawak defeated Arman FC 4–2 in the 18th match of the season.
The six-goal contest gave the Herat side another three points and extended its unbeaten start to the campaign.
The result left Omar Zawak on 10 points after four matches, with three victories and one draw.
Arman, meanwhile, suffered another setback after collecting three points from their opening four matches.
The day’s second fixture produced a notable result as Sorkh Poshan Khafi beat Abu Muslim Farah 2–0.
Abu Muslim entered the match as the two-time defending champion and had not conceded a goal in its opening three fixtures.
Sorkh Poshan’s victory therefore ended that defensive run while maintaining their own perfect start to the season.
The result took Sorkh Poshan to nine points from three matches, with three victories from three.
Omar Zawak and Ariana Khost are also among the early leaders, making the opening weeks of the sixth season increasingly competitive at the top of the standings.
The current campaign features 10 clubs and is being played in a home-and-away format. Competition is scheduled to continue until November 21.
ASJF NEWS cross-checked the two results against current Afghanistan Champions League records before publication. The supplied match report and current competition standings are consistent with Omar Zawak’s 4–2 victory and Sorkh Poshan’s 2–0 win.
