Fifteen kickboxers have earned places on Zabul’s representative team following a provincial WAKO kickboxing selection competition in Qalat.

The one-day tournament was organised by the provincial kickboxing federation under the Zabul Directorate of Physical Education and Sports.

According to the detailed information released about the event, 60 athletes took part, competing across junior, youth and senior age categories.

Unlike a tournament centred only on medals or final standings, the Qalat competition had a direct selection purpose. Performances were used to identify athletes for Zabul’s representative kickboxing team.

At the conclusion of the competition, 15 athletes were selected.

That outcome gives the event a significance beyond its one-day schedule: one in four of the reported participants progressed from the competition into the provincial selection, creating a defined step from local competition to representing Zabul.
