Kam Air finished the group stage of the Afghanistan Premier Volleyball League unbeaten after defeating Sohaili Bazan 3–0 in their final group match, securing a fourth consecutive victory and a place in the semi-finals.

The result confirmed Kam Air's position at the top of their group as the team continued its pursuit of a fourth successive league championship.

Having won the competition in each of the previous three editions, Kam Air entered this season determined to maintain its domestic dominance. Four victories in four group matches have kept that ambition on course.

Kam Air coach Khalid Ansari expressed satisfaction with his players' performance following the final group match.

"Fortunately, we have reached the end of the group matches and are now at the top of our group. We hope to continue winning in the final four," Ansari said.

He explained that Kam Air could face either Sorkh Mah or Tolou in the semi-finals, depending on the result of the remaining group-stage fixture.

The coach said the team's immediate priority was to prepare for the semi-finals and continue the winning momentum established during the group stage.

Kam Air player Sabawoon Gharzang described the victory over Sohaili Bazan as a comfortable result that reflected the team's preparation.

"Today's match was very easy for us, and we were fully prepared. Now we want to focus all our attention on the upcoming matches," Gharzang said.

Despite Kam Air's unbeaten group-stage record, the semi-finals will present a more demanding challenge, with the team's title ambitions depending on the outcome of a single knockout match.

Matlab Mohammadi, a Kam Air player and member of Afghanistan's national volleyball team, said the squad was determined to defend its championship.

"We will make every effort to win the championship. We are fully prepared for the upcoming matches and are satisfied with our level of preparation," Mohammadi said.

Beyond his team's championship ambitions, Mohammadi highlighted the importance of domestic competitions in developing players capable of representing Afghanistan internationally.

He said regular competition helped athletes gain experience, strengthen their technical skills and prepare for international matches.

However, Mohammadi also called for the duration of the Premier Volleyball League to be extended.

He argued that a longer competition would give players more opportunities to demonstrate their abilities, identify weaknesses and work on technical improvements.

His comments highlighted the importance of a more sustained domestic competition programme in supporting the development of Afghanistan's volleyball players.

For Kam Air, the immediate focus remains the semi-finals. Their opponents will be confirmed following the remaining group-stage result.

The three-time defending champions must now win their semi-final before they can compete for a fourth consecutive league title.
