Afghanistan will take part in the 86th Congress of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), with the Secretary General of the Afghanistan National Gymnastics Federation, Fardin Omid Jalali, travelling to Bangkok for the two-day meeting.

The congress is scheduled for October 4 and 5 and will bring representatives of FIG member federations together to report on their work and discuss plans for the future of gymnastics.

For Afghanistan, the significance of the participation goes beyond the official visit itself. The congress provides the country’s national federation with a place in the international federation’s formal discussions and gives it an opportunity to engage directly with other member associations.

Before his departure, Jalali met with Hafiz Ahmad Jan Zadran, technical and professional deputy of the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, who wished him success during the congress.
