
Boost Defenders secured a dramatic one-run victory over Band-e-Amir Dragons in a thrilling encounter in the 11th edition of the Etisalat Shpageeza Cricket League – Super Cola. Najibullah Zadran starred with an unbeaten half-century to guide Boost to their third win of the tournament.

Boost Defenders claimed a thrilling one-run victory over Band-e-Amir Dragons in the 11th edition of the Etisalat Shpageeza Cricket League – Super Cola, earning their third win of the tournament after a closely contested match.
After winning the toss, Boost Defenders elected to bat and posted a competitive 185 for 4 from their 20 overs, setting Band-e-Amir a target of 186.
Najibullah Zadran once again anchored the innings with an unbeaten 64, registering his third consecutive half-century in the competition. Asif Mousazai remained unbeaten on 38, while Hazratullah Zazai scored 31 and Akbar Mousazai added 24.
For Band-e-Amir, Ghazanfar, Nangeyalia Kharoti, Saleem Safi and Farmanullah Safi each claimed one wicket.
In reply, Band-e-Amir Dragons made a promising start but lost wickets at crucial stages despite spirited batting performances. Sediqullah Atal scored 64, Hashmatullah Shahidi contributed 52, and Sediqullah Pacha struck a quick 31, but the Dragons fell agonizingly short of the target, finishing one run behind.
Bashir Ahmad was the standout bowler for Boost Defenders, taking three wickets. Noor Ahmad, Karim Janat and Abdullah Tarakhail chipped in with one wicket each to help defend the total.
Najibullah Zadran was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 64 and his third successive half-century in this year’s tournament.
The tournament continues on Friday, with Speen Ghar Tigers set to face Amo Sharks in the day’s opening fixture, while Mis Ainak Knights will take on Boost Defenders in the afternoon match.
The Etisalat Shpageeza Cricket League is Afghanistan’s premier domestic Twenty20 competition, organized annually by the Afghanistan Cricket Board. The tournament features the country’s leading regional franchises and serves as a key platform for developing emerging talent while showcasing many of Afghanistan’s national team players.
