A wrestling tournament involving 50 athletes was held in Baraki Barak district of Logar province, according to the provincial sports authorities.

The competition, titled the Youth Solidarity Cup, included contests in several age and weight categories. The Wrestling Federation organized the event in cooperation with the Logar Directorate of Physical Education and Sports.

Engineer Muzammil Naeemi, head of the provincial sports directorate, said the tournament was arranged to strengthen sporting engagement, encourage solidarity among young people and identify promising wrestlers.

Organizers awarded championship certificates, medals and other prizes to the leading competitors at the conclusion of the event.

The official report did not provide the names of the winners, the number of divisions contested or individual bout results. It also did not specify whether any athletes were selected for a provincial or national squad.

The Youth Solidarity Cup was separate from the Victory Cup held in the same district in August, which involved 40 wrestlers. The differing event names and participation figures distinguish the two competitions.
