Esteqlal Win Opener as 16-Team Football Tournament Begins in Ghazni’s Gilan District
Sixteen teams are competing in a month-long football tournament in Gilan district of Ghazni province. Esteqlal defeated Sadaqat 2–1 in the opening match at Janda Bazaar.
Esteqlal defeated Sadaqat 2–1 in the opening match of a 16-team football tournament that began on Thursday in Janda Bazaar, Gilan district, Ghazni province.
The district sports administration organised the month-long competition in coordination with Ghazni’s provincial physical education and sports authorities, according to information provided by ASJF NEWS contributor Amir Afghan.
The opening result gave Esteqlal the first reported victory of the tournament. Organisers said the competition is intended to bring local athletes together, provide recreation for residents and support football in the district.
The organisers have not yet provided a full fixture list or the dates of the remaining matches.
