The first phase of Afghanistan’s national golf selection tournament has concluded in Kabul, with 10 golfers securing places in the next stage of the selection process. Similar qualifying events will also be held in Bamyan and Herat.

The first phase of Afghanistan’s National Golf Selection Tournament concluded in the Qargha area of Paghman district, Kabul, with 30 golfers competing for places in the next stage of the national selection process.
The tournament was organized by the Afghanistan Golf Federation under the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports and featured athletes from the national team and various golf clubs in Kabul.
Hashmatullah Sarwari claimed first place, while Noor Ahmad Fazel finished second and Mohammad Nader secured third.
A total of 10 golfers from Kabul qualified for the next stage of the national selection tournament.
Similar qualifying competitions are scheduled to take place in Bamyan and Herat. The top performers from the three provinces will then compete in the final selection event, where the best players will earn places on Afghanistan’s national golf team.
During the closing ceremony, Hashmatullah Sarwari, the tournament champion, received a cash award presented by Shakib Hayati, President of the Herat Golf Federation.
The Afghanistan Golf Federation organizes regional qualifying tournaments to identify the country’s top golfers for the national team. The selection process is designed to provide competitive opportunities for players while strengthening the development of golf across Afghanistan.
