Ikram Amiri has won a three-day snooker competition involving 94 players from clubs across Kabul.

Amiri, representing Jahan Nama Club, finished first after the tournament concluded on Friday. Jamil Wardak of Tolo Club took second place, while Amanullah Azimi of Kabul Club finished third.

The competition was organised by Afghanistan’s national snooker federation in cooperation with Kabul’s provincial sports department and hosted by Golden Ball Snooker Club.

Players from different clubs across the capital competed over three days before the final standings were decided.

The closing ceremony was attended by officials from the national snooker and billiards federation, the country’s sports administration and participating clubs. The leading players received awards and certificates.

Organisers said the tournament was also intended to identify promising snooker players in Kabul and provide more competition between the capital’s clubs.
