A cycling competition involving 20 athletes from Kabul, Bamyan and Ghazni was held in Bamyan province as part of efforts to promote the sport and encourage greater youth participation.
The event was organized by the Bamyan representative office of the Afghanistan Cycling Federation in coordination with the province’s Directorate of Physical Education and Sports.
At the conclusion of the competition, Ahmad Harith of Kabul claimed first place, while Ahmad Murtaza of Bamyan finished second. Naqibullah Totakhil, also representing Kabul, secured third place.
Organizers said the competition was staged to encourage young people to engage in sports and support the continued development of cycling in Bamyan province.
Cycling is among Afghanistan’s growing individual sports, with provincial competitions serving as an important platform for athlete development and talent identification. Such events also encourage wider participation in the sport and help strengthen competitive cycling across the country.
