Mahipar win Abdali first-class title by 203 runs

Mahipar Stars won the Ahmad Shah Abdali first-class final against Hindukush Strikers by 203 runs on 8 October. Osman Sadat’s unbeaten century and Naseer Khan Maroofkhil’s ten-wicket match return overturned a first-innings deficit.
Mahipar Stars recovered from 33 runs behind to claim the 2026 Ahmad Shah Abdali first-class title at Ghazi Amanullah Khan International Cricket Stadium in Nangarhar.
They made 259 and 432, setting Hindukush Strikers a target of 400. The chase ended at 196 for nine, according to the final scorecard.
Sadat anchored Mahipar’s second innings with 171 not out from 352 balls, including 23 fours. Azizullah Miakhil added 74, while Maroofkhil contributed 52 before taking six for 55 in the chase.
Maroofkhil had taken four for 81 in Hindukush’s first innings. Ali Ahmad finished unbeaten on 109 in the second, but his century could not prevent defeat.
Bakhtar, citing the ACB, reported that Maroofkhil received the final’s player-of-the-match award and Yamin Ahmadzai was named player of the tournament.
The finalists had also met at the end of the league stage. Mahipar won that match by an innings and 23 runs on 30 September to finish top of the table; Hindukush still qualified in second place, the ACB reported.
The four-team competition began on 29 August and included Maiwand Champions and Pamir Legends. Each side played the others twice before the two leading teams reached the final, which began on 4 October. The ACB scheduled 13 matches across Khost and Nangarhar for the season.
