KHOST, Afghanistan — Veteran Afghanistan batter Mohammad Shahzad produced a superb double century as Pamir Legends posted a massive 654 runs against Hindukush Strikers before their Ahmad Shah Abdali Four-Day Tournament match ended in a draw in Khost.
Playing at the Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Stadium, Pamir Legends dominated with the bat and declared their first innings on 654 for nine.
Shahzad was the outstanding performer, scoring 225 runs and leading a powerful batting display that kept Hindukush Strikers in the field for the duration of the Pamir innings.
Rahmat Shah Zarmati also made a major contribution with 135, while Ikram Alikhil remained unbeaten on 118. Faisal Khan Shinozada added 84 and Bahir Shah Mahboob scored 54 as Pamir Legends built an imposing total.
Despite the huge score, the match could not produce a winner. The allotted playing time expired before Hindukush Strikers were able to begin their first innings, resulting in the four-day encounter ending in a draw.
For Hindukush Strikers, Zaitullah Shaheen was the leading wicket-taker with four wickets. Ziaur Rahman Sharifi claimed two, while Amanullah Kunar and Sayed Ahmad Shirzad took one wicket each.
Shahzad was named Player of the Match for his outstanding 225-run innings.
The result followed another recent meeting between the two teams in the competition, when Hindukush Strikers defeated Pamir Legends by 71 runs. This time, however, Pamir’s batting unit responded with a dominant performance, highlighted by three individual centuries.
The match formed part of the 2026 Ahmad Shah Abdali Four-Day Tournament, Afghanistan’s leading domestic multi-day cricket competition.
