
Focus on Strategic Planning and Athlete Participation in Upcoming Events

The General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education, and Sports convened a meeting with presidents and officials of national sports federations to discuss strategies aimed at improving and developing the country’s sports sector.
The session focused on strengthening coordination and establishing structured planning mechanisms for athlete participation in upcoming national and international competitions. Opening the meeting, Director General Ahmadullah Wasiq presented the agenda, emphasizing the need to elevate performance standards and enhance institutional alignment across federations.
Federation representatives shared their perspectives, proposals, and assessments of existing opportunities within their respective disciplines. Officials from the sports authority listened to the contributions and described them as constructive inputs for future planning.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to consolidate administrative coordination within Afghanistan’s sports governance system, particularly as federations navigate operational constraints and seek greater Presence in regional and international competitions.
