Wahdat win Panjshir league and secure Central Zone place

Wahdat Panjshir will represent the province in next year’s Central Zone competition after winning the 2026 Panjshir Premier League. The club beat Jawanane Safidchehr 3–0 in the final to complete a two-month, 10-team season.

BAZARAK, Afghanistan — Wahdat Panjshir earned the province’s 2027 Central Zone place by defeating Jawanane Safidchehr 3–0 in the Panjshir Premier League final.

The final was played on Tuesday, October 6, at the provincial football stadium in Bazarak. The season involved 10 clubs from across Panjshir, divided into two groups of five, and ran for about two months.

Jawanane Safidchehr finished second. Oqaban Paryan were awarded third place on goal difference because no third-place playoff was held, according to Bakhtar News Agency. Oqaban Peshghor received the competition’s fair-play cup.

Wahdat also supplied three of the season’s individual award winners. Mumtaz finished as the leading scorer, Shakib Haqdost was named the best player and Shabir received the best goalkeeper award. Safi Ahmad of Jawanane Safidchehr was selected as the best young player.

Provincial football chief Noor Ahmad Ahmadi said the championship gave Wahdat the right to represent Panjshir in next year’s Central Zone competition. The other nine clubs ended their 2026 campaigns at provincial level.
