Akbar Kazemi

Akbar Kazemi is an Afghanistan international futsal player who was named Player of the Match in Afghanistan's first-ever FIFA Futsal World Cup game, a 6–4 victory over Angola in Uzbekistan on 15 September 2024. Kazemi scored in the sixteenth minute, lifting the ball over the goalkeeper for a goal singled out in FIFA's match report. The success formed part of Afghanistan's breakthrough appearance on the global stage after the side qualified through the AFC Futsal Asian Cup earlier in 2024. Afghanistan advanced from the World Cup group stage before losing to Paraguay after extra time in the round of 16. Kazemi's memorable individual goal and match award are established by FIFA match reporting; later club and career appearance figures require separate records.
