Paris Saint-Germain have been voted the AIPS Best Team of the Year 2025 following a global poll conducted by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), with a record 836 journalists from 121 countries taking part in the voting.

PSG topped the Best Team category with 871 points, finishing ahead of FC Barcelona with 763 points and Morocco’s U-20 men’s national team, which placed third with 487 points. It marks the first time the French club has received the AIPS Best Team award.

The FIFA Club World Cup was named AIPS Best Press Facilities of the Year after collecting 1,159 points in the poll. The UEFA Champions League Final, held in Munich, finished second, followed by the World Athletics Championships staged in Tokyo.

During the 2025 season, PSG enjoyed one of the most successful years in the club’s history, winning six of the seven competitions they contested. Their titles included Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, the Trophée des Champions, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. The only final they lost came in the FIFA Club World Cup, where they were defeated by Chelsea.

Under head coach Luis Enrique, PSG were praised for their balance, tactical discipline, and squad depth, with key contributions from players including Ousmane Dembélé, Vitinha, Achraf Hakimi, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Earlier this month, Swedish pole vaulter Armand “Mondo” Duplantis and Spanish footballer Aitana Bonmatí were named AIPS Best Athletes of the Year 2025.

The AIPS Best of 2025 poll featured participation from journalists across six continents, highlighting the global scope of the awards and the strong presence of football among the year’s top-performing teams and competitions.
