AFC Launches New Media Accreditation System for Events and Competitions

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has introduced a new online Media Channel for journalists and other media representatives seeking accreditation for its events and competitions.

The AFC said the former Media Channel will no longer be operational, with information and applications relating to media accreditation for AFC events and competitions now handled through the new platform.

Media representatives must register on the new system before they can access AFC events and competitions that are open for accreditation. The move means journalists intending to cover AFC competitions should ensure their registration is completed before attempting to submit an accreditation application.

The confederation has also made a user guide available through its media extranet to assist applicants with the registration process. Journalists who experience technical or registration difficulties have been advised to contact the AFC Media & Broadcast Operations Team.

For sports journalists across Asia, including Afghan media professionals covering continental football and futsal competitions, the change is important because future AFC accreditation opportunities will be administered through the new system.
