Afghan Bodybuilders Win Three Silvers in Bangkok

Three Afghan bodybuilders won silver medals at the 58th Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in Bangkok. Two other members of Afghanistan's 13-athlete squad finished fourth in their respective weight categories.

Afghanistan’s bodybuilding team won three silver medals at the 58th Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in Bangkok, with two more athletes finishing fourth in their respective categories.

Baitullah Zadran secured silver in the under-75kg category, while Yaser Samir Ehsan took second place in the over-75kg division. Abdul Shakoor Paiman added Afghanistan’s third silver medal in the over-80kg category, according to the country’s sports authority.

Two other Afghan competitors narrowly missed the podium. Ahmad Sir Sultani finished fourth in the over-75kg category, while Ahmad Zia Karimi took fourth place in the 70kg division.

Afghanistan has sent a 13-member bodybuilding and fitness team to the championships, which feature competitors from 24 countries.

The competition began on September 22 in the Thai capital and is scheduled to continue until September 28.

The three silver medals represent an early return for the Afghan delegation, with the championships still underway.
