
Afghanistan’s U-20 national football team will open its CAFA Championship campaign with a match against Turkmenistan on Tuesday.

The Central Asian Football Association U-20 Championship is scheduled to take place from May 10 to 20, 2026, in Tajikistan, with the participation of five teams.
Afghanistan will face Turkmenistan in its opening match on Tuesday, May 11, before taking on Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan in the remainder of the tournament.
The Afghan side is participating in the competition with a squad of 20 players.
The team is being led by Brazilian coach Antonio Nogueira, who currently serves as head coach of Afghanistan’s senior national football team.
