Afghanistan’s 23-member U-20 national football team has departed for Bahrain to compete in the qualifiers for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup. Afghanistan will compete in Group D alongside Bahrain, Jordan and Tajikistan, opening their campaign against Jordan on Aug. 31.

Afghanistan’s 23-member U-20 national football team has left for Bahrain to take part in the qualifying competition for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup.
A departure ceremony was attended by Hafiz Ahmad Jan Zadran, technical and professional deputy of the national sports administration, Afghanistan Football Federation President Mohammad Yousuf Kargar and other sports officials.
Afghanistan have been drawn in Group D with hosts Bahrain, Jordan and Tajikistan.
The national side will begin its qualifying campaign against Jordan on Aug. 31.
The qualifying competition, involving 44 countries, is scheduled to run in Bahrain from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6.
Afghanistan’s U-20 national team has been preparing for the qualifiers through training sessions and friendly matches. The team will compete against Jordan, Bahrain and Tajikistan in Group D as it seeks qualification for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup.
