Ali Ahmad Popal, former secretary-general of the Afghanistan Air Sports Federation, has been appointed acting head of the federation by its board. The appointment was announced during a ceremony commemorating the late Navid Popal, the federation’s founder and former president.

Ali Ahmad Popal has been appointed acting head of the Afghanistan Air Sports Federation following a decision by the federation’s board in the presence of officials and leaders of the national sports administration.
The decision was announced during a special ceremony held to remember and honor Ustad Navid Popal, founder and former president of the Afghanistan Air Sports Federation. Members of the federation’s board, athletes and other figures involved in the sport also attended the event.
Qari Hayatullah Rahmani, sports adviser to the national sports administration, praised the Air Sports Federation’s activities and reaffirmed the administration’s continued cooperation with the federation. He also expressed hope for a successful future for the sport.
Dad Mohammad Payenda Akhtari, head of Olympic affairs, paid tribute to Navid Popal’s contributions to the growth and development of air sports and wished Ali Ahmad Popal success in his new role.
Ali Ahmad Popal previously served as secretary-general of the Afghanistan Air Sports Federation. His appointment as acting head is intended to ensure continuity in the federation’s activities and prevent an interruption in its operations.
The Afghanistan Air Sports Federation oversees the development and organization of air sports activities in the country. The appointment of an acting head is intended to maintain the federation’s activities following the death of its former president and founder, Navid Popal.
