Afghan wushu athlete Fatima Jafari has won the championship belt at the fifth Sanda competition held in Balochistan, Pakistan, marking a notable achievement in her career.
Jafari secured the title in the sanda (combat) category after defeating her opponents and earning the gold belt in the tournament. Her performance reflects strong technical ability and competitive consistency.
This victory builds on her previous achievements. In September 2023, she was named the most technical athlete at a women’s wushu competition in Iran’s Fars province, where she also received a gold belt. She has also won gold medals in youth-level provincial competitions.
Her latest success highlights the continued presence of Afghan female athletes in regional competitions, despite ongoing limitations on domestic opportunities.
Many Afghan women athletes rely on international and regional events to maintain their competitive careers, as local sporting structures remain restricted.
