The competition opened at the provincial sports stadium in Sheberghan, the Afghanistan General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports said on Wednesday.
Alti Khwaja Youth faced Charmgar Khana Youth in the first fixture, with neither side able to break the deadlock after both scored once.
The 13 participating teams are scheduled to compete over two months. The directorate said the tournament is being organised by the provincial football federation’s office in coordination with Jowzjan’s physical education and sports administration.
No full fixture list, group standings or schedule for the next round was included in the official announcement.
