Kabul claimed the team title at the National Tabma Championship, which concluded in Maidan Shar, the capital of Maidan Wardak province, following two days of competition.
The tournament was organized by the Afghanistan National Tabma Federation under the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports and brought together 120 athletes representing nine provinces.
Competitors from Kabul, Bamyan, Khost, Daikundi, Parwan, Logar, Paktia, Nangarhar and Maidan Wardak took part in the championship.
At the conclusion of the event, Kabul secured first place, while Maidan Wardak finished second and Khost claimed third.
Organizers said the championship was held to promote unity among athletes and strengthen cooperation and sporting ties between provinces.
The tournament lasted two days and concluded with the recognition of the top-performing teams.
Tabma is one of Afghanistan’s traditional sports, with competitions regularly organized at provincial and national levels. National tournaments provide athletes with opportunities to compete against leading performers from across the country while fostering sporting cooperation and identifying promising talent.
