
Qasemi secures bronze medal in 45kg category after key win over Indian opponent at U16–18 Asian martial arts event in Uzbekistan.

Afghan athlete Mohammad Qasemi has won the bronze medal at the Asian Martial Arts Championships in the 16–18 age category held in Uzbekistan. Competing in the 45kg weight division, Qasemi secured the medal after losing to a Tajik opponent but defeating an Indian fighter in earlier bouts.
Meanwhile, fellow Afghan competitor Rohid Stanakzai defeated his Uzbek opponent in the 60kg category and is set to face a Kazakh athlete next. Fayaz Ahmad Ibrahimi, who recorded one loss and one rest round, is awaiting his next scheduled opponent.
The championship features participants from more than 20 countries, with Afghanistan represented by five athletes, one delegation, and one coach. The tournament began on May 16 and concludes on May 19.
