Matin Finishes Sixth in Asian Games 800m Freestyle C Final

Afghan swimmer Mohammad Sediq Matin finished sixth in the men's 800m freestyle C final at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. He completed the race in 8:55.46, following an earlier fifth-place finish in the 1500m C final.

Afghan swimmer Mohammad Sediq Matin finished sixth in the men’s 800m freestyle C final at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, recording a time of eight minutes, 55.46 seconds, according to Afghanistan International.

Matin raced against seven other swimmers in the classification final, with competitors from Thailand, Singapore and Kazakhstan occupying the first three places.

It was his second reported appearance in a distance freestyle event at the Games.

Earlier in the competition, Matin took fifth place in the men’s 1500m freestyle C final, completing the race in 16 minutes, 58.48 seconds.

His two appearances have given Afghanistan representation in both distance freestyle events at the Games in Japan.
