225 Boxers Compete in Kabul for Abdul Ghafour Raghib Cup

KABUL, Afghanistan — The 34th edition of the Abdul Ghafour Raghib Cup boxing tournament is underway in Kabul, bringing together 225 boxers from 28 clubs across the city.

Boxers are competing in the youth and senior age categories, with athletes divided across 13 weight classes. The tournament is aimed at giving Afghan boxers more competitive experience while supporting the growth and development of boxing in the country.

The competition is taking place as part of the federation’s domestic boxing program, with athletes from Kabul clubs facing one another throughout the three-day event.

The Abdul Ghafour Raghib Cup is among the domestic competitions used to provide Afghan boxers with regular competitive opportunities and help develop the sport at club level.
