Kabul will host the 14th edition of its Open Taekwondo Championships for junior athletes on Wednesday, October 21, with the Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation confirming the competition schedule and eligibility requirements.

The tournament is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. local time and will be open to eligible young taekwondo athletes, including competitors from Kabul and other Afghan provinces.

According to the federation's announcement, only athletes born in 2012, 2013 or 2014 will be permitted to compete.

The official weigh-in will take place on Tuesday, October 20, in two sessions. The morning session is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by an afternoon session from 1:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

The age restrictions and weigh-in schedule establish the participation requirements for this edition of the tournament.

The competition will provide young athletes with an opportunity to test their skills against opponents from different clubs and provinces.

For competitors at this stage of their development, tournaments of this kind offer experience of organised competition and the demands of performing under tournament conditions.

The federation has not specified the total number of registered athletes, participating clubs, weight divisions or the venue in the information provided.
